Prokofiev's much loved ballet score describing the two famous lovers comes to life with the youthful energy of San Antonio's finest young musicians. YOSA's own Concerto Competition winner gives his or her prize-winning performance. Opening the concert is a piece co-commissioned by four youth orchestras across the country. YOSA will give the Texas premiere and, during the "The Great Tour of China," the international premiere, of a new work by the high school phenomenon, Jay Greenberg. During his featurette on CBS's 60 Minutes, this amazing prodigy was compared to the genius of Mozart and Mendelssohn.
